Throne Room

I wanted to share a recent song that helps me explain the unexplainable heart posture of a believer, in awe of the Lord Jesus. It is called “Throne Room” by Kim Walker-Smith.

As I sit here listening to it, I cannot help but imagine sitting in the Throne Room of my Christ Jesus and just simply singing “Holy, Holy, Holy” to Him for all eternity, never ceasing or getting tired of it. My heart sincerely cannot contain the weight of His name. I am humbled at the foot of the cross, sitting in the truths of what Jesus did for me, all for a relationship with me.

There can be no other response but falling to my knees and exclaiming how “Holy is the Lord.”  Holy!  Set-apart!  Sacred!  Divine!  Unlike any other thing!  The one deserving of all the honor and glory and praise, every day, all day! With my eyes fixed on Jesus, there is no end to the praise of the name of Him. I imagine each time I proclaim him Holy, I catch another glimpse of His holiness, in a never-ending cycle. I yearn for the full comprehension of His goodness and holiness and love, but I am already fully overwhelmed in my miniscule human understanding of it that I can only imagine. I await heaven when I sit physically at the foot of Jesus and can express my pure gratitude in eternity.

There will be a day! We will be with the angels and saints circling the Throne Room, captivated by the Holiness of our God for forever. Oh, how I can’t wait for that day. But as we wait, we have full access to proclaiming that reverence today because of the barrier broken by the work of Jesus on the cross.

So let it be today! Sit at the feet of Jesus. If you only have one minute of time, sit at His feet and just exclaim “Holy, Holy, Holy are you Lord God Almighty!”

This simple truth contains the depths of the gospel that we believe and abide in. The Holiness of God reveals the sin sickness in me. It reveals my deep need for a Savior who can take my place in judgment. It reveals my inadequacy and His fulfillment. It reveals my selfishness and his immense sacrifice. It reveals my inability to earn anything from God, while displaying fully His grace and mercy. It reveals love.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16. That truth sends us to our knees, running to the Throne Room, to exclaim our Lord Jesus Holy.

He is Holy. Today, Yesterday and Forever. Amen.
